AGAPE: Art That Blurs Boundaries

At VOO Space in Berlin, the interdisciplinary project Leonis Works x VOO Space brought together contemporary art, music, and performance. The highlight of the evening was the world premiere of AGAPE, a new performance conceived and choreographed by Renato De Leon.
Performed by Jade Albrieux, Caterina Politi, and Anna Okuneva-Freedman, AGAPE explores contemporary ideas of beauty, identity, and self-perception. Drawing on the visual language of fashion, editorial imagery, mirrors, and public space, the performance invites audiences to become active participants in an immersive artistic experience where the boundaries between exhibition, stage, and everyday life gradually disappear.
The performance was presented within an exhibition featuring works by Anja Rausch, Josephine Rothäuser, and Christian Goss. Curated by Emily Brockington, the exhibition continues an exploration of vanity, beauty rituals, and the relationship between the body, identity, and the gaze of the viewer.
We came above all to support Anna Okuneva, an extraordinary artist who previously danced with the Bolshoi Ballet and Stanislavsky Theatre in Moscow. It was a pleasure to see her not only as an outstanding ballerina, but also in a completely new creative context.
It was especially fascinating to observe how contemporary dance continues to evolve in Berlin and the new ways it is finding to engage in dialogue with its audience.
